Quality assurance over the course of time

Getronic's products at that time were test programs for integrated circuits or so-called "LSIC- Large Scale Integrated Circuits" such as microcontrollers. All test programs were developed and maintained by Getronic engineers. For the adaptation of the components to be tested, Getronic could offer a variety of adapter boards.

Test Lab for Electronic Components

Manufacturers of electronic components are constantly working to improve the quality of their products. At the beginning of the 1990s, this led to changes in the processes of industrial companies. Instead of maintaining an incoming goods inspection with their own costly testing instruments, they had turned to external service providers. Getronic recognized this development early on and equipped itself with the appropriate instruments and offered itself as a specialist center for the testing and analysis of electronic components. With this service, many customers have been spared major problems in their electronics production.

Due to the strong development and use of ASICs, so-called Application-Specific-Integrated-Circuits during this phase, Getronic's engineers had acquired great expertise and skills.

Constant change: Quality assurance of electronic systems

After the quality of the components had reached an acceptable level and become the industry standard, post-receiving inspections were gradually dispensed with completely, and random inspections also steadily decreased. Once again, Getronic recognized these new market conditions as an opportunity to explore and build new business areas.

Until today Getronic continues to offer quality assurance services for complete electronic systems that our customers have developed and want to have parameterized and tested after production. At that time in-circuit and functional tests of electronic systems were common. Based on a modern test system from Rohde & Schwarz (TSAS), Getronic successfully completed several projects. The powerful TSAS was subsequently also used for quality assurance of its own products.
